What are the benefits of Pearl Skin Resurfacing?

Pearl Laser treatments can help you achieve visible results in a single treatment, not several.

Pearl laser treatments also aggressively combat signs of photodamage and various other imperfections. Long-term results are achieved from a single treatment, and one week of downtime is typical for most patients.

How Does Pearl Skin Resurfacing Work?

During treatment, the top layer of skin is removed with intense pulses of light in a pre-selected pattern. The laser simultaneously sends heat to the deeper layers of skin to provide long-term benefits. A natural protective dressing forms on the skin, to minimize downtime during the restorative process. On day 3 or 4, this natural dressing will peel or slough off, leaving new, healthy, vibrant skin. In a short time, patients will notice overall skin clarity, smoothness and softness – all from a 15-20 minute treatment with only 3 – 6 days of “social” downtime.

Most patients will choose a Pearl treatment because it significantly improves the skin’s texture and pigmentation and minimizes wrinkles, without clinical downtime required with certain Erbium and CO2 laser procedures. Compared to today’s fractionated technologies, Pearl offers noticeable results in just one treatment versus 4 – 6 fractionated treatments.

How many treatments should I have?

The majority of patients can expect dramatic improvement after one treatment. Our medical professionals will meet with you one-on-one to discuss your treatment plan and what you can expect. And we are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Am I a Candidate For Pearl Skin Resurfacing?

Those with skin tones that are light to medium are good candidates for the Pearl, as are those who suffer from skin imperfections that result from aging and damage from the sun.

What Areas Can Be Treated?

Pearl Lasers can treat your entire face. It is a great treatment for delicate areas around the eyes and mouth. These areas are often the first parts of your face where signs of aging appear – and they can be difficult to treat with out-of-date methods.

Does Pearl Skin Resurfacing Hurt?

Patients have said treatment resembles feeling a series of quick, hot pinches. Numbing medication may be used to help ease discomfort. We will work with you to make sure your treatment is as pain-free as possible.

When Can I Wear Makeup Again?

Because patients see improvements just a week after treatment, makeup can be used five days after treatment. Patients will see their results continue to improve as the weeks and months pass.

What happens after treatment? Is there any downtime?

Your skin may appear sunburned and there may be some swelling, but these fade quickly. Our patients have reported no major discomfort after their treatments.

For post-treatment care, ointment can be applied to the skin for about five days. Patients also should stay out of the sun or wear clothing that protects them from the sun.

Pearl Skin Resurfacing can be used in conjunction with other treatments. Our team will evaluate you to determine which other treatments you can tolerate and which you should stay away from.
