Acne Laser / Laser Genesis
Laser Genesis is an intense pulsed light treatment that rids acne and improves scarring, diffuse redness, uneven texture and large pores. This treatment is used effectively on the face, back and chest. Laser is a non-ablative, non-invasive and comfortable form of skin rejuvenation.
Laser genesis is form of non-invasive laser therapy that uses laser technology to gently heat the different levels of the dermis. The temporary thermal treatment increase the skin’s collagen production, break down damaged capillaries and shrinks pores on the skin’s surface. Laser genesis can be performed on several areas of the body, including the face, chest and neck. Many patients have actually described laser genesis as a pleasant treatment. The laser produces a warm, tingling sensation on the patient’s skin, which usually lasts for 30 minutes.
How does it work?
Laser genesis is effective for both men and women and is proven to increase an individual’s collagen production, which along with the heat generated by the treatment helps to shrink facial pores across the nose, cheeks, chin and forehead. Results are more subtle at first, with the benefits from treatment increasing over time as the regenerated collagen helps beautiful, smooth skin to grow. Benefits continue to increase in intensity and the number of treatments received increases, with the average patient receiving four treatments for optimal results. The number of treatments needed is determined on a case-by-case basis, depending upon the skin’s growth cycle and also the size and spread of enlarged pores. No anesthetic is required during the treatment and very few side effects occur. Potential side effects include mild skin irritation and peeling around the treatment site. Laser genesis usually takes less than an hour to perform, and irritation or side effects after the treatment are extremely minimal. What does the treatment feel like?
Laser Genesis treatments are completely non-invasive. Patients have described it as relaxing and therapeutic. You will feel a gentle warming as the laser is moved across the skin about 1⁄2” above the surface. You can immediately return to normal activities with absolutely no downtime or redness.
When will I see results?
You will slowly start to see results 3-9 weeks after your first treatment because we are repairing cells deep in the middle layer of the skin. Once these cells start to come to the surface, you will see improvements in texture, redness, scarring and fine lines. This is a cumulative treatment which means that your specific condition will continue to improve more and more with each treatment.
